It's here!

The latest shipment of our cookbook, "The Island Plate: 150 Years of Recipes and Food Lore" (Island Heritage, 2006) has arrived. This book, by Advertiser food editor Wanda A. Adams, delves into our food coverage over the past 150 years with 156 pages of recipes and stories, color pictures and an exhaustive index. Although it doesn't include every recipe we've run, it shows how our foodways have evolved and answers such burning questions as, "Where did the plate lunch come from?"

To buy a copy, go to honoluluadvertiser.com and look for the link about halfway down the page on the right. Or fax an order to our fulfillment company, www.e808.com, at 356-0756 with your name, billing and shipping addresses, e-mail address, phone number and credit card information. You can also make a mail order by check: send check, payable to e808.com, and shipping information, to Cookbook Orders, P.O. Box 29238, Honolulu, HI 96820.

And here's a deal: If you order five books or more, shipping is free.

Each book costs $20, plus $6.95 shipping and tax. (Be aware that the charge on your credit card will be from e808.com, not The Advertiser.)

Questions: Voice mail, 356-0361 or customerservice@e808.com.
