KAUNAKAKAI
Hospital work nearly done

Advertiser Staff

The second phase of the Moloka'i General Hospital renovation project is expected to be completed next month.

The project involves renovating the 22,000-square-foot hospital, built in 1962, to house a women's health center, physical therapy activities, food service, a special procedures suite, a chapel, laboratory and administrative support services.

Gov. Linda Lingle this week released an additional $400,000 for the second-phase construction, which started last year.

The project already received $6.87 million in government and private funding, with the total cost set at $9.17 million.
