"Emily Gail Talks Golf" will re-air last week's show this Saturday at 6 p.m. on the Big Island ESPN Radio Network (AM790 Kona AM850 Hilo). The show features a conversation about Hawai'i's endangered state bird — the nene — especially those now living at Big Island Country Club.

Guests include Linda Elliot, founder and president of the Hawai'i Wildlife Center; Waimea Middle School science teacher Lily Edmon and two of her seventh-grade students, Jonathan Schuler and Trev King; Jessica Schwarz, science teacher at West Hawai'i Explorations Academy, and two of her seventh-graders, Nicole Nakamura and Zachary McClure.

School officials say the radio show is "part of a research experience for mentors to bring technology and engineering training in the classroom — all to captivate and motivate excitement in science." It is one of a number of public appearances students have made to help educate the community about nene protection, to support their public education efforts and distribute brochures they have created.
