HAWAI'I KAI
Mariner's Cove without water

Advertiser Staff

About 15 homes were without water in the Mariner's Cove area yesterday after an 8-inch water main broke Tuesday night.

Board of Water Supply crews worked through the night on the break, which was repaired about 10 a.m.

The broken main was not connected to the Board of Water Supply water main replacement project that has been occurring on Niumalu Loop and Kamilo Street.

In addition, crews encountered a problem when they were replacing a water main valve on Lunalilo Home Road at the intersection of Hawai'i Kai Drive. Commuters saw water gushing onto the street. That work was continuing.
