UH tumbles to No. 9; UCLA rises to No. 3 in volleyball poll

The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team dropped to No. 9 in the CSTV/AVCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Rainbow Wahine, who were swept by Florida and UCLA in last week's Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic, were No. 7 previously.

UCLA, which won the tournament by sweeping all three of its opponents, climbed from 10th to No. 3 in the poll.

Nebraska received 51 first-place votes and remained No. 1. Penn State got eight first-place votes and is No. 2. UCLA got one first-place vote.

Florida, which was No. 5 entering the tournament, is No. 6.

UH (3-2) plays in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Volleyball Challenge starting Thursday. It meets No. 8 Stanford on Saturday.
