A man who was killed in a tree-trimming accident in Hau'ula Friday has been identified as Carl B. Tuitavuki, 53, of Kahuku.

Tuitavuki was trimming tree branches in a cherry picker Friday when a tree branch fell on him, said Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

Cheplic said the accident happened when Tuitavuki was working at Kaipapa'u Loop and Kamehameha Highway. The call came in at 6:48 p.m., Cheplic said.

He died at Kahuku Community Hospital.
