Couple facing drug, gun charges

A couple arrested early Friday morning at Kapolei District Park have been charged with drug and firearm offenses.

Vicki Lynn Palpallatoc, 39, who is also being held on four outstanding warrants totaling $2,100, and Albert McDougal, 30, were in a car at the park at 12:30 a.m. Police seized a revolver and ammunition from the car.

Both were also charged with third-degree possession of a dangerous drug.

Bail is $20,000 for Palpallatoc and $25,000 for McDougal.

MAN REPORTS BEATING, GUNSHOT

Police are investigating a complaint by a 20-year-old man who said he was assaulted and shot at early Saturday on Mala'ai and Lawehana streets. No injuries were reported. The man, 20, told police about a dozen men confronted him at 2:45 a.m. while he was in his car. The incident may be drug-related, police said.

CHILD STARTS FIRE, DAMAGES HOME

A child playing with matches or a cigarette lighter started a fire Friday at a home at 264 Auwaiolimu St. that caused $6,000 damage to structure and contents, according to the Honolulu Fire Department. No injuries were reported in the 10:44 a.m. fire.

EX-BOYFRIEND HELD IN ALLEGED ASSAULT

A 31-year-old Pearl City man is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail in connection with the alleged June 16 assault of his former girlfriend. Sydney Tokunaga of Kawelu Street was charged Friday with first-degree assault. The woman suffered a fractured skull, police said.
