To get into the spirit of Halloween, we're looking for pictures of keiki and adults in their spookiest costumes. Chicken-skin-kine getups. If it "screams" for attention, we want to see it. Send digital photos and we'll share our favorites with readers.
Send pictures to islandlife@honoluluadvertiser.com, with "Halloween costume" in the subject line. Include name(s) and contact information of the person(s) in the photo and whom to credit for taking the photo. Submissions must be high-resolution jpeg, with a minimum 300 dpi.
Or send a print to us at Island Life/Halloween Costumes, The Honolulu Advertiser, P.O. Box 3110, Honolulu, HI 96802. Photos will not be returned. Deadline is Oct. 22.
A DIFFERENT VIEW
With shrinking housing lots and more multifamily dwellings, Islanders' windows increasingly look out on other people's spaces.
Artscape, a Portland, Ore.-based company, produces thin, flexible window films that adhere to glass to create a gorgeous stained-glass effect, allowing in light but protecting privacy.
Home Depot has them, or check www.artscape-inc.com or www.lighteffects.com.
FINAL WORD
