The Aloha Section PGA Foundation has planned a schedule of four Pro-Am tournaments next year to benefit the University of Hawai'i golf program.
The pro-am series will be held Feb. 2 at the Hawai'i Prince Club, April 27 at the Pearl Country Club, Aug. 31 at the Turtle Bay Resort and Nov. 30 at the Makaha Golf Club.
The format for each event will be one net/one gross best ball for the 24 four-amateur teams who will play with an Aloha Section PGA professional.
Proceeds from the events will go toward a four-year scholarship to an outstanding Hawai'i junior golfer meeting the university's PGA and SAT requirements. If no Hawaii' resident is eligible, a Mainland student may be selected.
The yearly selection will be alternated between the men's and women's programs, with the initial scholarship worth approximately $58,280 going to the men's program.
Castle Resorts is the title sponsor of the pro-am series. But the Aloha Section PGA is also looking for tournament sponsors for each event. Team sponsors and individual players can also call the Aloha Section PGA office at 593-2230 or Andrew Feldmann at the Oahu Country Club at 595-3256, extension 2.
