'Auntie Jan' to talk story at libraries

To mark Children's Book Week, which begins Monday, the Hawai'i State Public Library will present Janice Terukina in "Island Kine Storytime With Auntie Jan" on the Neighbor Islands.

Terukina is a veteran actress who performed with the East West Players in Los Angeles and Kumu Kahua Theatre in Honolulu.

The programs, free to the public, are suitable for pre-schoolers through adults.

The schedule:

  • Kaua'i: 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hanapepe Library; 6:30 p.m. Monday at Waimea Library; 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kapa'a Library; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Princeville Library.

  • Big Island: 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountain View Library; 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Holualoa Library.

  • Maui: 10 a.m. Thursday at the Makawao Library; 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kihei Library.
