Thrifty Car Rental has joined the HawaiianMiles frequentflier program, awarding members 50 mileage points per day when they rent a Thrifty vehicle, through Sept. 30. summer travel alert: Although the Transportation Security Administration eased its rules about carry-on items in November, international travelers should check with carriers. While the TSA said some items are now OK to carry — scissors with a cutting edge of less than four inches and tools such as small screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers — it failed to note that Canadian airports, for example, were sticking with their rules.
