TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"The 100 Funniest Movies," 4 p.m., Bravo. A chance to catch the series in one swoop. The first hour goes from No. 100 to No. 76. The last hour starts with No. 25 and ends with No. 1. Expect some laughs.

"Saving Private Ryan" (1998), 4 and 7:30 p.m., TNT; or "Combat Diary: The Marines of Lima Company," 5 p.m., A&E. On Memorial Day weekend, two chances to catch the soldier's experience. One is Steven Spielberg's masterful portrait of World War II. From the epic opening D-Day scenes to the final battles, Spielberg has an amazing visual touch. He also adds a great sense of character and casting. Tom Hanks is the officer leading a mission to retrieve Ryan (Matt Damon). The soldiers include Vin Diesel, Giovanni Ribisi, Tom Sizemore, Barry Pepper and more. The other film takes a look at modern war in Iraq. Marines from Brook Park, Ohio, shot some of the footage themselves.

OF NOTE

"The Curse of King Tut's Tomb," 5 p.m., Hallmark Channel. An extraordinarily ambitious period piece — a four-hour miniseries, airing in one chunk, with exotic settings. Casper Van Dien plays an earnest archaeologist, determined to assemble Egyptian artifacts. Leonor Varela — the Chilean beauty who starred in TV's "Cleopatra" — plays a purist who wants the artifacts to stay in Egypt. Alongside that, there's action and supernatural elements and more. This didn't need four hours, but it is a hardy tale.

"Enemy of the State" (1998), 7 p.m., ABC. Tony Scott ("Top Gun") directed this high-octane movie about an ordinary lawyer (Will Smith) whose life spins out of control. He's been given some evidence regarding murder. Suddenly, top officials are determined to ruin his reputation and get rid of him. Gene Hackman, Jon Voight and Lisa Bonet co-star.

"NCIS," 7 p.m., CBS. After getting successful heart surgery, a Navy commander inexplicably bursts into flames in this rerun.

"Criminal Minds," 8 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, a sniper has shot six people. In each case, however, he's shot in the stomach, not to kill. That perplexes police.

"Law & Order," 8 p.m., NBC. A 12-year-old boy has been severely beaten at school, in this rerun. That puts the focus on such issues as legal guardianship and parenting.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. A rerun of the show's 100th episode. Michael York plays an effete man with a taste for fine wine. He has a team of women helping him take money from tourists.
