It's the archetypal good versus evil in Manoa Valley Theatre's "Unlikely Lawman," news anchor Joe Moore's adaptation of "The Lawmen" by Robert Broomall. Moore, center, stars, of course, along with Matthew Pedersen, Michael deYcaza, Allen Cole, Stephen Mead, Katie Doyle, Tina Shelton and Derrick Brown. Bill Ogilvie directs. Tickets are $35 general, $30 seniors and military and $25 for those 25 and younger.

FESTIVAL: JUNE 9-11
The 27th annual Pan-Pacific Festival — Matsuri in Hawaii celebrates the relationship between Hawai'i and the entire Pacific. The ho'olaule'a June 9 takes over Kalakaua Avenue to showcase entertainment by local and visiting performers, craft booths and a market with ethnic food. The hula festival June 10 at Ala Moana Center features dancers from around the Pacific Rim. The festival closes June 11 with a parade in Waikiki, which features taiko drummers, contemporary and traditional dancers and vibrant floats. Admission to most events is free.

CONCERT: JUNE 16
The Hawaii International Jazz Festival presents a night of hapa-haole sounds and Hawaiian swing through Mele No Ka Oi. Entertainment includes Brittni Paiva, Gabe Baltazar, Kawika Kahiapo, Mihana Souza, Scotty Ho'oheno, John Kolivas, Brickwood Galuteria and Aaron Aranita. Tickets are $25 general, with discounts for seniors, military and students.

We never get enough of The Makaha Sons — they celebrate 30 years of music at the 4th annual Paradise Yellow Pages Take a Walk in the Country event. In the lineup: The Brothers Cazimero, Hapa, Daniel Ho and Herb Ohta Jr., Hoku Zuttermeister, Ho'okena and Na Kama. And da kine buffet. Tickets are $100 on the floor for the dinner and show; $30 for loge seating, show only; and two for $30 for upper-level seating, show only.

You got to move it, move it at the Kulcha Klash Music Festival featuring Ky-Mani Marley, Mr. Vegas, Baby Cham and Kimball Collins — along with more than 15 local bands, 20 DJs, and six Playgirls. Oh, and don't forget Da FlowRider Summer Series Contest. Tickets for this 18-and-older music bash are $18 presale, $20 the week of the event and $25 at the door.

CONCERT: JUNE 14
It's music among the menagerie at the Wildest Show in Town. The annual summer family concert series kicks off in mid-June with Ernie Cruz Jr. Subsequent Wednesday concerts feature Melveen Leed, Rocky Brown, Makana, Rolando Sanchez and Salsa Hawaii, Manoa DNA, Ben Vegas and Maila Gibson, Holunape, Jimmy Borges and the Surfaris through Aug. 16. Each week there will be a drawing for an 'ukulele. Admission is $2, which benefits the zoo's Renovations to the Sumatran Tiger Exhibit.

FESTIVAL: JUNE 17-18
Two days of hip-shaking dancing fun are in store at the 6th annual Puerto Rican Salsa Festival. Salsathon 2006 celebrates El Dia de San Juan with the live beats of Son Caribe, El Conjunto Tropical, Nova, Charlie Y Charlie, Los Maliantes, Castro and more. Besides live music, the festival features salsa workshops, dance performances, dance competition, silent auction, arts and crafts and food. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 on the day of the event. Military and those 60 and older pay $8, while those 12 and younger enter free.

FESTIVAL: JUNE 23-25
Get ready to graze — Taste of Honolulu, left, is coming back. In its 15th year (can you believe it?), the annual event will feature bites from restaurants (Brew Moon, Shanghai Bistro, Da Spot and 20 others), wines from around the world, a beer garden, sake tasting, keiki activities and entertainment. Admission is $4 general, $2 those 65 and older, and free for 12 and younger. The festival is a benefit for Easter Seals Hawai'i.
