Aloha Section PGA junior tourneys set

Registration forms are available for the 2006 Aloha Section Junior PGA Championship. It will be June 15 and 16, with the 13 to 18 age divisions at Honolulu Country Club and golfers 12 and under at Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Golf Club in Hilo.
Winners of the older boys' and girls' divisions here join more than 150 of the nation's top junior golfers in the PGA of America's flagship junior event, the Westfield Junior PGA Championship, Aug. 10 to 13 at Westfield Group Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio.
State high school girls champion Stephanie Kono won last year's national championship by two shots and has an exemption into this year's tournament.
The 31st Westfield Junior PGA Championship is open to one boy and one girl champion from each of the 41 PGA Sections. Applications are available at the Aloha Section PGA by phone — 593-2230 or (877) 742-6248 — or online (aloha.pga.com).
GIRLS QUALIFIER JUNE 20
Hawai'i's qualifier for the 58th USGA Girls' Junior Championship will be June 20 at Turtle Bay Resort. Last year's qualifiers were Stephanie Kono, Mari Chun, Kaitlen Miyajima and Kimberly Kim.
Female golfers who have not reached their 18th birthday by July 22, with a USGA handicap index of 18.4 or better, are eligible. Entry deadline is Wednesday. The championships will be at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, N.C., July 17 to 22.

PAIR WINS CHALLENGE
Paul Parke and Dennis Fallas birdied the 16th hole Monday to win the ESPN National Golf Challenge-Territorial Savings Bank Local Qualifier at the Coral Creek Golf Course.
Parke and Fallas qualify for the Hawai'i Regional Finals at Turtle Bay Resort on Aug. 27. Regional winners will win a trip to play in the National Finals at the Bali Hai and Royal Links Golf Clubs in Las Vegas on Nov. 13-14, which will be televised on ESPN2. Parke and Fallas finished 3-under 69 for the tournament, edging Keith Koverman and Greg Cantrell by one stroke.
Kevin Goto and Leighton Uyeda won the net division and also advance to the Regional Finals.
