Man arrested in extortion

A 19-year-old man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly tried to extort money from a 40-year-old woman who runs a business on Ke'eaumoku Street.
The woman told police she was returning to her business when she saw a man knocking on the door.
She said she asked the man what he wanted and that he told her to give him money or she would not be able to do business anymore.
The business owner called police, who arrested the man at the corner of Ke'eaumoku and Young streets on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
WOMAN HELD IN WAIPAHU BURGLARY
Police arrested a 27-year-old woman Sunday afternoon after a Waipahu couple reported finding the woman trying to climb into their home through a window.
The intruder fled before officers arrived, police said, but officers found a woman matching the intruder's description about a block away.
The suspect became combative while she was being detained for questioning, police said.
The residents identified the woman, and she was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree burglary and disorderly conduct as well as a contempt of court warrant.
'EWA BEACH BOY SUSPECTED OF THEFT
A 16-year-old 'Ewa Beach boy was arrested Sunday on suspicion of second-degree theft after he allegedly stole a home entertainment system valued at more than $1,000 from a relative.
Police said other family members confronted the boy when he returned home and that he admitted taking the entertainment system.
GIRLFRIEND REPORTS DOMESTIC ABUSE
A 21-year-old Kapolei man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of kidnapping and abuse of a family or household member in connection with an incident reported Friday by his girlfriend, 20.
The woman told police that her boyfriend held her against her will and pushed her up against a wall during an argument.
The boyfriend turned himself into police Sunday after learning he was wanted for questioning.
POLICE LOOKING FOR HILO GIRL
Big Island police asked for the public's help in finding a 17-year-old girl reported missing from her Hilo home since Oct. 28.
Felecia Braden is described as 5 feet 2 and 118 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police officer BJ Duarte of the Juvenile Aid Section at 961-2278 or the police nonemergency telephone number at 935-3311.
