The Joyful Heart Foundation, founded by actress Mariska Hargitay as a means to help victims of sex abuse, sponsors a weeklong therapeutic healing retreat in Kona that includes art therapy, surf lessons and an ocean swim with dolphins.
Nalani Holliday, owner of the Red Pineapple shop in Ward Centre, has designed a product for which 100 percent of sales could be donated to the not-for-profit — a beach bag emblazoned with happy hearts manufactured by the "My Tote" company exclusively for Red Pineapple.
The tote sells for $30 at Red Pineapple or at www.joyfulheartfoundation.org.

SOAP COMPANY EXPANDS
The Bubble Shack Hawaiian Soap Co., owned and run by twentysomething sisters from Mililani, Holly and Ashley Harding, makes soaps with strictly vegan ingredients. Their 5-ounce and 6-ounce bars of soap come in more than 100 varieties. Many names and ingredients are Island-inspired: "Lilikoi Shave Ice," "The Green Flash," "Waimea Bayberry" and "Grass Skirt Holiday" among them. Many of the soaps include island ingredients such as mango butter, kukui-nut oil and macadamia-nut oil and have added infusions of Big Island coffee beans, hibiscus, seaweed and azuki beans.
Bubble Shack offers customers the opportunity to customize large orders by selecting the soap's scent, color, name and packaging. They often provide favors for weddings and baby and bridal showers.
Bubble Shack soaps are sold for $4 to $6.50 per bar at Lanikai Bath & Body in Kailua, at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet or at www.bubbleshackhawaii.com.
