The 30th annual Raku Ho'olaule'a is happening this weekend in a new location — Waimanalo Beach Park, across from the polo fields, instead of the usual Kualoa Beach Park.
The community kiln will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow, and nonpotters can glaze ceramic tea bowls, to be fired by the expert potters. Each piece is $5.
While you're waiting for your piece to be fired, check out the creations by the potters, who have been camping out, immersed in the art of raku. The ARTS at Marks Garage will host an exhibit of ho'olaule'a pieces July 5-29.
