TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Toy Story" (1995), 7 p.m., ABC; and "Ice Age" (2002), 5 p.m., FX. It's easy to forget how quickly computer-animated comedies have taken over Hollywood. Back in 1994, the traditional, hand-drawn "Lion King" scored big for Disney. Studios scrambled to duplicate it. Then the little Pixar company changed everything with "Toy Story," its computer-animated gem. Disney distributed it and prospered. Within a decade the computers would rule animation and Disney would buy Pixar. The key to this is quality: Pixar starts with a great idea, writes a witty script and casts the voices perfectly. Other companies have tried to do the same. "Toy Story" is a prime example. The basic notion — classic toys conspiring to help each other — was wonderful. The script was sharp and the voices (led by Tim Allen and Tom Hanks) were just right. "Ice Age" is a fairly good effort from a Pixar competitor. The story has ancient creatures helping a human baby. Ray Romano is the lead voice, with John Leguizamo terrific in support.

OF NOTE

"Washington the Warrior," 5 p.m., History Channel. If you missed this first-rate documentary on Monday, here's another chance. It traces George Washington's war progress, from his early mistakes (igniting a war between the British and French) to his Revolutionary War triumph.

"Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" (2005), 5 p.m., HBO. Here's the epic that wrapped up the second trilogy, which is a prequel to "Star Wars."

"Without a Trace," 8 p.m., CBS. A man disappears from prison. Because he was going to be paroled in two weeks, his wife believes this was foul play, not an escape.

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent," 9 p.m., NBC. A messy family suit gets even worse: A man trying to steal an important file is killed.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Lindsay Lohan hosts with music by Pearl Jam.
