Three Hawai'i charities will get $1,000 each from The Thunderbirds, a Phoenix-area civic organization and title sponsor of the recently completed Thunderbird International Junior tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Hawai'i's Tadd Fujikawa, Stephanie Kono and Kimberly Kim and other participating golfers were asked to name their favorite charities. Forty-five charities received $1,000 each.

Fujikawa chose the 50th State Judo Association; Kono picked the Aloha United Way; and Kim, the American Cancer Society
