Thinking about going Natalie Portman short?

Here's one feel-good reason to chop your tresses: Locks of Love, with help from Heaven on Earth Salon & Day Spa stylists, will collect hair donations 10 inches or longer from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 at Tamarind Park on King and Bishop streets.

For details call 534-7503. The nonprofit organization provides hairpieces to people 18 and younger who suffer from medical hair loss. Monetary donations are also welcome.

For more information about the organization, visit www.locksoflove.org.

DESIGNER BAGS ON A TIGHT PURSE-STRING BUDGET

Designer bag fetishists (and there are a lot of you), you've gotta check this out: Bag Borrow or Steal, the Web site where you can borrow a designer bag — we're talking Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Gucci — for as long as you like.

When you're over it, drop the bag in the mail and wait for your new one to arrive. Think Netflix for the pretty-purse set.

Membership use starts at $24.95 a month. Go to www.bagborroworsteal.com to sign up.
