McKinley High School cafeteria is the repository of the Friends of the Library of Hawaii Booksale, plus music, DVDs, audio-books and other treasures.

Books are just the beginning at the annual Friends of the Library of Hawaii Booksale, launching today at the McKinley High School cafeteria. You can also find CDs, sheet music, videos, DVDs, records, books on tape and collectibles. Expect crowds, lines and a lot of treasure hunting in the heat.

Admission is free. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 9 a.m. to noon July 15.

If you're still in the mood to shop, head for nearby Thomas Square, where the Pacific Handcrafters Summer Festival offers a range of jewelry, wood items, clothing and more. Think Christmas shopping in July!

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow. Admission is free. 674-6037.
