Sunset salutes Honolulu's 100th in Waikiki tonight

Sunset on the Beach salutes the city and county centennial tonight with a screening of "Honolulu: 100 Years in the Making" before the feature film of the night, the animated animal adventure "Ice Age: The Meltdown."

Tomorrow's film is the basketball drama "Glory Road," starring Josh Lucas as the coach of the 1965-66 Texas Western Miners.

Sunset on the Beach festivals at Queen's Surf Beach in Waikiki begin at 4 p.m. with food booths and entertainment (including Island favorite B.E.T. at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow). The movies hit the screen after the sun goes down, about 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. 923-1094.
