TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
Winter Olympics, 6 p.m., NBC. The women's figure skating finals always draw a massive audience. This time, especially, because there is no overwhelming favorite. There's buzz for an American (Sasha Cohen), a Russian (Irina Slutskaya), plus skaters from Japan, Canada and Italy. Even being a favorite often doesn't mean much. Just ask previous long shots Sarah Hughes (whose sister, Emily, skates this year) or Tara Lipinski.
"American Idol," 7 p.m., Fox. Changing form slightly, the show had its 12 women sing Tuesday and its 12 men sing Wednesday. Viewers voted after each. Tonight, they'll learn the names of the first four — two male, two female — to be ousted.
OF NOTE
"Survivor" (CBS) and "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC), both 7 p.m. How obsessed are viewers with competition? At 7 p.m., it's on each of the four big networks. "Survivor" — which started this trend less than six years ago — has its fourth ousting. "Dancing with the Stars" trims to two celebrities for its Sunday finale. Add "Idol" and the "Olympics" and you have competition overload.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. In this rerun, a 6-year-old may have been taken by his military father. Nick meets the daughter of the man who buried him alive.
"Skating With the Celebrities," 8 p.m., Fox. Fox plans to rerun the Feb. 13 episode, which trimmed the field to two. The duos are Tai Babilonia and Bruce Jenner, Jillian Barberie and John Zimmerman, and Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler. The two surviving pairs will compete Monday.
"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, a rich American is kidnapped in Mexico. Jack and Danny ignore his wife's wishes to keep authorities out of it as the kidnappers demand.
