For those not running, or walking, in tomorrow's Hawaiian Telcom Great Aloha Run read this:

Streets in the downtown area — the race starts from Aloha Tower and finishes at Aloha Stadium — will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 4:30 a.m.

The downtown areas include Bishop Street from Beretania to Nimitz Highway.

The race has staggered starts, beginning with the Sounds of Freedom at 6:50 a.m. and ending with the walkers and strollers at 7:10 a.m.

The course goes along Nimitz Highway, so all westbound lanes will be closed.

Scott Ishikawa, spokesman for the Department of Transportation, said crews will be following the participants and will be cleaning up.

"Streets will be reopened as the races moves along," he said. "All the streets should be reopened by about 9 a.m."

The route goes under the airport viaduct and onto 'ewa lanes of Kamehameha Highway to the stadium. The total distance is about 8.15 miles.

The 22nd annual race draws about 20,000 runners and is Hawai'i's largest annual participatory fundraiser benefiting local charities.
