Hawai'i's wholesale price cap for gasoline will drop 10 cents a gallon on Monday to $1.95 for regular on O'ahu, according to the state Public Utilities Commission.
That price excludes taxes and retail markup. The law caps wholesale prices, but retailers can still charge whatever prices they want.
CYANOTECH POSTS $294,000 LOSS
Cyanotech Corp. reported a net loss of $294,000, or 1 cent per share, for the quarter ending Dec. 31, compared with net income of $326,000, or 2 cents per share, for the same period a year earlier.
The Kona-based company is a world leader in producing nutrition and health products from microalgae. Sales for the third quarter of fiscal 2006 fell 27 percent to $2.3 million from a year earlier. Sales for the quarter were down 7 percent from the preceding quarter.
"Lower revenue for the third quarter resulted from reduced order levels of spirulina products and continued reduced demand for NatuRose in Japan aquaculture," said Gerald Cysewski, Cyanotech's chief executive officer. He said there was increased demand for other products, including BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin.
