High surf roles in on north shores

A high surf warning is in effect until 4 p.m. tomorrow for northern and western facing shores on O'ahu. Surf along the North Shore will increase to 25 to 30 feet today, according to forecasters for the National Weather Service.
Surf along western facing shores should be 15 to 20 feet today, forecasters said.
The surf is expected to decrease Tuesday, but then increase again along northern and western facing shores on Wednesday and Thursday.
MAN KILLED IN H-3 CRASH IDENTIFIED
A man who was killed Friday night in a one-car crash on H-3 Freeway has been identified as Kekoa K. Keo, 26, of Waimanalo, according to the medical examiner's office.
Officers said the car was Kailua-bound when it crashed into a barrier at 8:30 p.m. The car was between the Likelike offramp and the Kamehameha Highway offramp when it hit the barrier.
Officers said speed may have been factor.

CHINESE FESTIVAL NEXT WEEKEND
HILO — The Chinese New Year will be celebrated Friday and Saturday in Hilo.
The Palace Theater will have Chinese folk dancing and lion dancers at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The Big Island Shaolin Arts Lion Dancers will perform and bless the theater with firecrackers. Also appearing will be the Evergreen Dance Troupe from Honolulu.
