Kailua stops Roosevelt, remains unbeaten

Brittany Tokunaga had three hits, including a double, home run and three RBIs, and Krista Dumandan struck out nine to lead Kailua to a 6-3 victory over Roosevelt yesterday in a softball game at Stevenson Middle School field.

Kailua scored four runs in the top of the seventh to seal the victory.

The Surfriders (3-0) remained undefeated in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red East Division.

The Rough Riders dropped to 2-1.

Kahealani Chang had a double, home run and two RBIs for Kailua. Amanda Vegas was 3 for 3.

Deanne Horswill and Caira Pires hit home runs as the Mustangs rolled past the Falcons in an OIA Red East game at 'Aina Haina Community Park.

Horswill, who went 5 for 6, hit a two-run homer in the third.

Pires, who had three hits, hit a two-run homer in the fifth and had six RBIs and scored four runs.
