Not buying the new Paris Hilton CD today? Then you'll likely have some time to go out and listen to some real music tonight.

Newjass Quartet is still holding down a live jazz night at thirtyninehotel worth checking out. Featuring Justin James on drums, Ryan Kunimura on tenor sax, John Hawes on upright bass and a weekly special guest, Newjass mixes new-school post-bop and hard-bop jazz stylings with traditional bebop skills for a sweet, always-interesting modern sound.

As the celebutante herself might say, "That's hot!" From 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.; $3 before 9 p.m., $5 after. For 21 and older only.
