From "Hawaii Five-O" to the current production of "Lost," Hawai'i has proven itself an attractive location for the film industry. Dawson heads the Hawai'i Film Office, part of the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, serving as a liaison between productions and various state agencies, facilitating permitting, even use of state lands for filming. The meeting is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. sign-in (and board elections), to 1:30 p.m. at the Hawai'i Prince Hotel Waikiki, Mauna Kea Ballroom. Fee; guests welcome.
