Need help with your dog? Maybe it's you who needs some training. At least that's what renowned dog trainer Cesar Millan would say. The host of National Geographic Channel's "The Dog Whisperer" is conducting his first Hawai'i seminar Oct. 15 at the Hawai'i Convention Center. Millan will share his innovative techniques for working with canines in a lecture-style seminar. (No dogs allowed.) Cost is $95. Information: 275-3011 or events@brightlightmarketing.com.

ARTAFTERDARK GOES 'VINTAGE'
More old-school than April's " '80s Nite." Closer to home than March's "Planet Rice." And far less, uh, Turkish than May's "Turkish Delights." "Vintage Hawai'i," ARTafterDARK's penultimate monthly before a holiday-season rest to shop for presents, promises the sweet steel-guitar sounds of the Hiram Olsen Trio, hula by Kanoe Miller and Halau Hula O Na Lei Mokihana, plus tasty local-kine grinds. Come early enough tonight and catch a zip-tour of the Honolulu Academy of Arts' "Hawaiian Idyll: The Prints of John Kelly" exhibition, or tour any of the galleries solo. Entry is $7 for non-Academy members, free for members. From 6 to 9 p.m. Call 532-6091.
