'Hawaiian Nutcracker' tryouts Sunday

Auditions for the "Hawaiian Nutcracker Ballet," a production of Honolulu Dance Theatre, will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at the ballet studio at Windward Community College. The studio is in Hale Alaka'i, which faces the Kea'ahala Road entrance to the campus. The production will be Dec. 16-18 at the college's Paliku Theatre. Audition times and ages groups:

11-11:45 a.m.: ages 5 to 9.

Noon-12:45 p.m.: ages 10 to 12.

1-2 p.m.: teens and adults (those auditioning on pointe should bring pointe shoes).
