Linda Lingle will update members of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawai'i and the business community this morning on current issues and priorities of the state at "BREAKFAST WITH THE GOVERNOR" from 8:30-9:30 a.m. (8 a.m. registration and breakfast) at the Ala Moana Hotel's Hibiscus Ballroom.   • Two of the nation's top experts on the securities industry will join Sen. Daniel Akaka and state Securities Commissioner Corinna Wong at free public forums today and tomorrow. Robert Glauber, NASD chairman and chief executive officer, and Mary L. Schapiro, NASD's vice chairman and president of Regulatory Policy and Oversight, will participate in the forums, "WHAT EVERY INVESTOR NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT INVESTING." The forums are sponsored by NASD, the leading private-sector regulator in the U.S. securities industry, with co-sponsors, the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Hawai'i Council on Economic Education and Akaka. The discussions are intended to help interested Hawai'i consumers understand securities investing and discuss recent regulatory developments and issues in the financial services. Akaka will provide an overview of congressional actions taken to deal with recent financial services problems. Wong will discuss the latest enforcement issues. The workshops are 6:30-8:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. registration and complimentary dinner): today at Maui Tropical Plantations, Waikapu, Maui; and tomorrow at Hilton Hawaiian Village, Coral Ballroom. Free.
